SR22 Frequently Asked Questions
What is an SR22?
An SR22 is a filing required by the court or administrator that proves you have auto insurance that meets at least the basic requirements of your state. The SR-22 certificate is kept on file at the Department of Licensing, Public Safety, or Motor Vehicle, depending on the state.
In most cases, you are required to have an SR22 on file with your state for three years. If your insurance cancels for any reason, the insurance company that issued the SR-22 filing must notify your state of the policy cancellation and this results in automatic suspension of your drivers license.
I have more than one DUI. Can I still get my coverage through Bravo Insurance?
Siri has different plans for all different drivers. If your DUI offenses are more than three years apart, you may be rated the same as a first time DUI offender. If your citations occurred within a three year period, you may still buy good coverage and get your SR-22. Simply call us or email us an application.
How can I pay for my insurance and the SR-22 filing?
Bravo Insurance has a variety of affordable payment plans. You may pay your down-payment or any monthly payment with a Visa or MasterCard or Bravo Insurance will accept your personal check by mail or fax. You may choose to have the insurance company send you a bill once a month, with a monthly service charge. We also accepts money orders.
I like the quote I received from Bravo Insurance. How do I get the policy started so I can drive again?
If you are paying with either a credit card or faxing us a personal check, you may start coverage immediately. Upon approval, Bravo Insurance will send your SR-22 directly to you along with an ID card, indicating you have active insurance.
If you are mailing a check or money order, your coverage will start the day we receive your payment.
I don’t remember all my tickets for sure. What happens if I’m wrong?
All Drivers will have their MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT (MVR) Profile ordered from their specific state within 24 hours. If you have more tickets on your MOTOR VEHICLE REPORT than we originally rated, you will be charged more, depending on the number of tickets. Of course, if your MVR shows fewer infractions than we rated, your premium will go down.
What happens if I have an accident? Who do I call?
All the fine insurance companies Bravo Insurance represents have 24 Hour, seven day a week claims service.
